Can not the heat generated by flaring be utilized to generate

steam and run turbines to  generate electricity.

Dear Faisal,

The following steps would reduce the GHG emission for exploration and production division:

1.If you have a line heater / burner in your organization then you can divert the flash gases from the separator / vessels and use as a burner fuel.

2. Reduced the compressor blow down.

3.strict approval to be taken while Open flows /wells test.

4. Instead of flaring use fuel for enhanced oil recovery if any well required.

5.For power generation you can utilized.

6.Investigate the causes of repeat non-routine flaring due to this you can reduce the incidents.

I hope the above steps will help you, would appreciate if u share for the same.

We need to understand why we do flare? to reduce venting- my question is flaring alternative! Flare could be as big as the size of the flare stack - practically feasible solution for utilisation of flared gas would be appriciated.

Please note that flaring is not permamment, only in emergency and during maintenence.

Regards

Faisal

Flaring was going on for years and years in Assam Oilfields.

I don't know the present situation.  So much of gas was

going waste in flaring.  So, I can say, flaring was a a permanent

arrangement.

Thanks for your input .

Have you implemented the options in any of the facility. Is it possible!

If yes , to start with please elaborate on the first one to utilise the flash gases from seperator into heater burner.

Faisal
