Paryavaran.com-Gateway to Indian Environment Market

Dear Members

I want to know about environmental modeling, how we can do environmental modeling to assess changes that will ocur  after any development projcts, like construction of any plant or cutting of forest.

It will be great if anybody can suggest me related text book,  sites, or link fromwhere I can download related material.

I would also like to know if requires any kind of softwaire, and if any of them freely available on internet.

Thanks

Modelling is done before implement on the site. In modelling we can do analysis based on the design. we can do modelling of wastewater network (Sewerage), water network, river modelling and treatment plant.
There are various books avaliable but diffucult to find in Indian market.
But you can get more material on net.
Thanks for your respons

Dear Vidhu,

There are lot of softwares avalable for air, water and acoustic modelling. Every modeller has to be trained initially because to do the modeling one has to understand the basic of modelling and the nature of behaviour of various pollutants. If you are really interested we can continue the discussion

HI RAGHAVA,

I am interested in training for modeling. I am also working in the air dispersion modeling since 5 years, and for 3 years i worked with NEERI, and currently working in ISC-AERMOD also. But, I want to learn this in more details. please let me know about the ISC-AERMOD training and water modeling training of MIKE 21 n etc.

Regards,

Anuja

Dear Raghava

Very thanks for your reply. Yes I am interested in it, if it is possible to do online it would be better for me.
I wold like to start from basics, as it is very new for me.

Again thanks a lot.

Hello Vidhu,

Its really nice to hear that you would like to know the modeling right from basics rather than just working on the model. if you are serious then i am always helful to you to provide the necessary fundamentals and advance understanding about atmospheric physics. But first let me tell you that i am a zoologist and for the last 3 years i had worked hard to learn atm physics and dynamic nature of atm and dispersion. if you are willing then we can definetely share the knowledge
Dear Sir,

The information what you have provided was really great. but i feel that reading book of Turner right at the begining stage i thing a real beginner will be lost in the mathemetical equations. Rather i would like to suggest Atmospheric physics by B. Padmanabhamurthy or any Environmental Engineering text book which provides the basic information of atmosphere, dynamic behaviour of atmosphere, vertical & horizontal temperature profile variations etc.

I knew that i am not as experienced as you (As i know you pretty well) but please forgive me if i have made any mistake by contradicting you

Regards

Raghava
Yes it would be better to start from simpler book, as I am very new in modeling.
