Suppose industries in an area begin exchanging their outputs that are normally considered waste for one industry as a raw material for another industry, we could evolve an almost closed system in which matter and energy circulate within the system. The system as a whole would not generate any waste.

APIIC in co-ordination with GTZ has initiated this innovative project system. somehow they failed to do it. However, a small town of Kalundborg in Denmark worked out this even though the system was not designed to be so. it began as one-to-one exchanges that made economic sense and evolved as a zero discharge system.

when some can do it without any system design and only by chance then why we are not able to successfully implement after designing also

yes...this is grt idea would lead the solution of current major envioronmental problem waste disposal. As per my knowledge there are Two units..one M/S Bharat Oil,Gaziabad(UP) -refining of waste/used oil & other M/S Attero Recycle Roorkee(Uttrakhand) -seggeration & disposal of E-waste are involved in similiar job.

The concept of using the waste of one industry as raw material for the other industry is the necessity of the hour and needs encouragement from all walks of life. Though it is practiced in few industrial outlets more should follow. The pharma and oil industry should try this concept to reduce ecological imbalances.
