The deterioration in quality of Indian river water is very alarming. Although dams are necessary but this reduced reverflow and its self assimilative capacity. And further heavy  drainage discharging domestic and industrial effluents  due to over pupulation I think is the majore cause of this deterioration .Mny industries have tried to reduced industrial effluents but what about domestin . Government has no control over it .No where except a few STP is running and treating domestic effluent and runoff from coties.
