I do agree with Manish, you are absolutely right, Strict law should be implement by government in India to prevent mercury emission, but before that we have to think about health impact of mercury, as if we dispose it randomly so mercury vapor will affect to the people and environment simultaneously. There is a standard for mercury in CFL but may be some brand using various amount of mercury, this will affect again.

We replace CFL in place of Incandescent Lamp, We reduce energy consumption. We reduce mercury emmission by coal base powerplant. But After life hours of CFL, CFL is going to in landfill. There is no specific rule to prevent mercury into atmospher in india by this way. Strick law should be implimented by government in india to prevent mercury emmission.
