Hi fasi

I think your query need a long answer .. or a long demonstration

Say for EIA, the outcome of the ecological survey need to

signify the Biodiversity aspects of the area

Biodiversity again includes

      1. identification of ecological landscapes viz agro-forest, wetland, natural vegetation

       2. taxonomic survey of flora & fauna (eg. flora of the area)

      3. sampling and assessment of ecological parameters (eg density, dominance)

       4. screening of threat and important species of conservation value

       5. proposal of protection, awareness, conservation plan, etc

For no. 1 point - u need experience in the field of ecology

no. 2 point - a sound knowledge in taxonomy and experienced in

                         identification of species

no. 3 point - sampling of species such as plants by quadrate, transect

or point center quarter  method; collection secondary information

on fauna; photographic compilation of birds and animals with ID

no. 4 point - awareness and identification of endemic, threat, rare,

important (medicinal, timber value, regionally important) species

no. 5 point - concept of in-situ and ex-situ conservation; Biodiversity park, arboretum,

or others (butterfly park, gene conservation), wildlife management etc etc

So you can now define what is the methodology for your requirement

all the best
