Excellent piece of information.
But the tipping point is not in sight unless the alternative energy sector does not strike cheap and highly efficient alternative technology for power generation sector in near future
for another 20 years at least, the Coal is going to stay as most used source of power/heat generation despite the developments taking place in the energy scenerio
With its quantity and no competitive low cost energy source in near future, coal is going to be primary source of energy in comming days as well, time to utilize energy efficient technologies as much as possible and extensive adjustments.
coal is called black diamond figuratively but it deserves the title.it is the most used energy source, best reducing source for its carbon content, hard and porous material its modified form called coke mostly used in metal industry.it isvery difficult to find a substitute. we do not know how to use it safely, sustain ably but blame it we humans are to blame, not coal.
any way a good collection of material.
remember, tipping point is not for coal but for human greed and desire for comfort
It is a very good article.
It is quite an informative blog. I would like to add that though we are trying our level best in bringing renewables at par with their counterparts yet tremendous efforts are needed on that front. We can't wait for the time till we reach a tipping point. With my experience working in industries like cement, there is a need to change the mindset of the people regarding conventional fuel. With various alternatives available for coal, industries are still reluctant on switching. Combined efforts from all fronts like Government, Industries, Authorities, NGOs are required to push the issue and bring a step change.
We must prioritize Renewable energy and coal be used where unavoidable. It must be planned that way. As regards corruption as reported it must be investigated and action need to be taken.
Coal dominates in fulfilling India’s energy sector requirements. Being dependent on coal will create serious issues in future. This is the time to move towards renewable energy.
