Training Course on Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management

The National Institute of Disaster Management (Ministry of Home Affairs) is conducting a five day "ToT programme on Climate Change and Disaster Management" from 10-14 January 2011 at NIDM Campus, New Delhi. The programme aims to build the capacity of officers to manage disasters associated with climate change and the various preparatory, mitigative and adaptive plans required addressing the issues. The course is open to be attended by nominated Senior/middle level Officials from state /district administration and various line departments such as Animal Husbandry, Rural Development, Agriculture, Revenue, Irrigation, Drinking Water, etc. who are likely to play crucial roles in disaster mitigation, preparedness, response, relief and management in different states.

The travel expenditure of the participants shall be borne by the nominating agency while the boarding and lodging arrangement will be made by NIDM.

Faculty members/teachers/scientists in the academic/training institutes of the University department of Environmental Science/Geography/Social work/Economics and Forest Training/Research Institute, State Rural Development Institute, Water & Land Management Institute at States/UTs, and other research institutes of CSIR, ICAR, DST, ICMR, can attend the course. There is no course fee.
