Looking for environment graduates, enthusiasts interested to work with GreenBandhu as Project Manager in Pune.

Urgent requirement, start date October 1, 2012.

Please contact: hr@greenbandhu.org.in ; 9818167932

Profile of GreenBandhu Project Manager:

  1. Solid Waste Management for Schools & Communities

Solid Waste Management for Schools & Communities

Waste management is one topic that is vaster than most other environmental issues in India. The sheer number of issues associated with waste management is mind boggling – human rights and child employment, health implications of waste lying around (flies and mosquitos close to garbage and animals eating it), economic implications of waste (with India importing waste), environmental hazards because of burning of waste and incessant landfilling, remuneration for waste-pickers and government employees, illegal migration of waste-pickers etc.

Thus, a SWM Coordinator needs to have a genuine interest in this vast topic so that he can get a bird’s eye view of how GreenBandhu can contribute and intervene at different points in the system.

The Waste Management coordinator will have the following responsibilities:

  • Reaching out to new schools & communities for starting waste segregation, composting in a de-centralized manner. (Bulk generators, apartments etc.)
  • Researching about the different intervention points GreenBandhu can target to tackle the problem of waste in the country.
  • Synchronizing with the schools & community development coordinator about the various neighbourhoods adopted in regard to waste management.
  • Take charge of connecting new volunteers to projects within existing SWM projects.
  • Maintain constant relations with volunteers engaged in SWM projects.
  • Facilitating CSR team in organizing one-time CSR activities in clean up drives and waste management (Request basis only)
  • Update website and other social media with notifications/activities etc.

Requirements:

  • Genuine interest in Environment and waste management.
  • Good communication skills in English and knowledge of Microsoft Office features.
  • Good team skills to synchronize with other coordinators.
  • Prior work experience is preferred. However, exceptions can be made on a case to case basis.
  • Flexibility in terms of conveyance and willingness to travel all over India.
  • A minimum of Bachelor’s degree educational qualification.
