one software AERMOD, absolutely free :-)

Dear Praveen,

The Aermod of EPA site is absolutely free but not working on windows as I have tested the module. You can go with many other commercial windows software like

Thanking you for information sir

Thanking you for information sir

Respected Sir;

breeze Suit ISCST model and SCREEN3 Model are used.

Dr. Hemal, could you please provide the list of air qual models applicable on Windows? I could not see the list you must have written to Praveen's question (the message appears to cut off after the word 'like').

Thank you.

Almost all air quality models released by USEPA workes only on MS Operating System including Windows (excluding 64bit). Since, most of them are written in FORTRAN, there is no interface like breeze/lake software.

Now, if someone wants to learn how to run these software on windows without the commerical interface - please contact me on +91 8292611355, please note this will be charged :-)

Thanks for information sir

Thanks  sir and if any further information  required i will call you sir

Hi Praveen,

Here is a list of software you could use:

for Mining: use FDM and /or ISC-ST3 (area source) module.

Industrial : use IST-ST3 (point/volume/area options). But better go for AERMOD (the approved model)

Non Road dispersion: ?  (does that not include industrial...anyhow try AERMOD/ISC-ST3).

For on-road engines try CALIEN4/CALINE3/CAL3QHR

EPA provides the FORTRAN core program. Most commercial software (BREEZE, LAKES) build interface on this code. Try using Breeze Suit AERMOD/ISCST3/PRIME software.

Please feel free to write back in case of other queries.

Regards.

Dear Sir ,

Thank you very much sir .

is there  mandatory / statutory requirement for  air dispersion modeling to any industry except during EIA Study?

Hi Praveen!

Could not say I fully understood your question....

As far as Air modeling is in question, apart from EIAs (for which it is almost mandatory) generally project proponents who have plants close to dense human habitats, forests or other eco-sensitive locations or complex terrain/coast line prefer going for dispersion modeling (as a separate exercise).

Remember one time, one such person wanted to get it done because National Board Wild Life wanted him to ensure that the plant's emission has no impacts on forests located 5-7 km away.

Hope you understand.

Regards.
