Hello,
Can anyone suggest me any cost effective physico chemical process through which ammoniacal nitrogen can bring down from 2000 ppm to less than 50 ppm.

instead of physio chemical treatment ..why dont you use it for agriculture purpose followed by recharge. Addition of chemicals might bring you expected results but if you revise the Life cycle...you are polluting back...so use this water after nominal reduction of BOD/COD (sedimentation, floculation etc). Dilute the N to permissible limits which can be used by farmers as nutrient to crops.
Another option is pesiculture and lotus culture in a separate tank before it enters the disposal unit which can be surface water bodies and artificial lakes. These natural process reduces N upto 60% - 70% , also considerable reduction of organic matter.
This also brings aesthetic view and development of eco tourism...for parks , green belts...
Please let me know the source of your wastewater or influent.
