Can someone please suggest to bring the concentration of Ammoniacal Nitrogen from more than 50,000ppm to less than 50ppm, in industrial effluent of a dye manufacturer, we can achieve upto 500ppm only.

Thanx much

After bringing down to 500ppm,try treating the effluent with  hypochlorite in ratio of 8:1 which means if 1 part of ammoniacal nitrogen is taken, take 8 parts of hypochlorite....
This has worked out for us in bringing the agro-chemical effluent from 120 ppm to 10ppm
Thank you so very much Ms.Renuka, I will try and let u know about the results.  Kind regards Vinit

Hi Vinit,

You can go in for special microbial cultures to address your issue of ammonical nitrogen. If you want I can email you our product details. You can also visist our website www.organicabiotech.com

Dear Vinit,

Kindly mail me the effluent composition details both at 50,000ppm and at 500ppm. If possible let me know the procedure of your treatment.

Please send the mail to sudipto.ghosh@inspectorate.co.in

We would like to take a look into the whole procedure and then suggest.

Warm regards

Vinit,

The cheapest technology is to use biological treatment using nitrification. No, you do not need any special microbes. Normal microbe is sufficient. Whole world uses this technology in industrial and sewage treatment. I have designed and operated several plants. Chemical treatment will be costly.

Feel free to contact me and I can guide u.

Hello,

I would like to know about your effluent characteristic and the treatment which you are giving to bring down concentration of NH4-N from 50,000ppm to 500ppm.

I am working in the same field of ammoniacal nitrogen treatment but the treatment which we are giving in our common effluent treatment plant is too much costly, so I am looking for any cost effective treatment.

Regards,

Bhaskar Mondal

@Chikkala Renuka - Madam can you give me detailed treatment procedure, when you use hypochlorite what are its side effects, like TDS is increasing or not and whether it is cost effective for the treatment of large amount of volume or not.
