We use to eat the same during my childhood. This plant was usually grown at field side.

In Bengali it is known as Tepari. Fruit is sweet and sour, usully sold on footpath or way side, but never in regular fruit shops.

Yes it is good piece of information. We used to taste this fruit in child hood but the parents forbade us to do on account of lack of awareness
