Can anyone help me to find out, what are the important parameters we have to check after composting and which methods we have to adopt for its analysis. Please guide me to present a good project proposal as a part of my project work.

For this purpose, the main parameters in composting that you need to analyze are

1) Moisture Content

2) Texture - It should be granular ideally

3) Nitrogen - For this you can use the Kjedahls Nitrogen Apparatus.

4) Phosporous

5) Potassium: For the analysis of these two parameters, specific procedures have been defined through spectrophotometric method. You can refer Standard Methods for Examination of Water and Wastewater by APHA for the details.
These are the ONLY Major parameters which are considered. Further, you can also analyze the quality of the compost by visual color - Ideal compost is dark brown leaning towards blackish. Odor should be ideally absent. But if present, it should be in traces.

Dear Seena, the essential parameters to be measured for quality in compost are N, P,K, OC, EC & pH. There is also a simple way to measure the efficacy of compost without going to a lab or measuring these different parameters separately. Kindly contact me on cloverorganic@gmail.com for details if interested. Kindly give a back ground of your work as well.

thank you sir for ur kind reply.will contact you through mail..

Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
