Ministry of environment and forests (MoEF) has released draft rules for management and handling of municipal solid waste. The ministry has put forth the draft of municipal solid waste (management and handling) rules 2013 in public domain for suggestions and comments.

The Government has introduced the Wild Life (Protection) Amendment Bill, 2013 in the Rajya Sabha for stricter enforcement of laws to protect wildlife. The bill seeks to further amend the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972. Read more here
