Science of Climate Change and Earth's Sustainability: Issues and challenges
A Scientists-People Partnership
(Lucknow, 12-14, September,2011)
Organized by The Society of Earth Scientists
The idea of this multidisciplinary conference received overwhelming support; therefore, abstract submissiondate is extended to 10 July’11 for those who are willing to participate. Acceptance ofsubmitted abstracts will be intimated soon. Please also indicate if you are interested to deliver popularlecture to students during your stay at Lucknow supporting our outreach attempt. Based on abstract submitted from various domains ‘Themes’are further refined.
Detailed Themes:
1. Climatic changes in the geological history and impact on Earth.
2. Imprints of Quaternary and recent climatic change as studied in glacial and fluvialsystems.
3. Anthropogenic Vs Atmospheric causes of climate change.
4. Indian Monsoon and Climate change.
5. Natural resource management- surface and ground water, agriculture, mineral and fuelwealth.
6. Environmental pollution, Solid-waste management etc.
7. Impact on ecology.
8. Sustainable and renewable energy resources.
9. Climate policies and laws; International status.

Malaviya Hall, Lucknow University Campus
University Road, Lucknow
Registration:
Fee: Rs. 500.00
Rs. 200.00 (students)
Registration Fee may also be paid at the counter on inauguration day subject to prior confirmation of participation.
Travel Grant:
Limited fund is allocated for supporting travel/ local hospitality for non-supported participants and eminent speakers/emeritusscientists and research students.
Local Hospitality:

AC Double Rs. 1200.00
AC Deluxe Rs. 2000.00 and above
We will try to provide local hospitality to non-funded participants as far as funds permit. Local transportwill be provided to all.
