Wanted- Trainers and Environmental Leaders!

Dear Members,

 

How many times you wanted to learn something and wished that you learned it from the Horse's mouth, the expert, eco-guru on the subject!

 

How about making a start right here on Indian Environment Network. We have now more than 2000 environmental experts and would be learners on IEN. OUR GOAL is help you  develop a "Guru-Sishya" relationship and enjoy the experience in the bargain..

 

But I know most of our experts just don't have time to teach! Here's my request. Can you just stop today for a moment and spend a few minutes thinking what you are good at that "Others" would like to learn from you. Maybe you are a "EIA expert", "Disaster Management" expert, a solar equipment expert, wind energy expert, maybe you have figured out how to fill in "Pollution Control Board" applications the right way. Maybe you are a renowned wildlifer, "Photographer" , a "Eco-tourism" guide, PRA expert, a field counsultant on watershed mgt, an eco journalist who would like to take a group or indivdual out with you in the weekends and teach them tricks of the trade. Maybe you can even train a budding entrepreneur how to set up his business.

 

Given your time constraint, you may like to host or train  an individual or a "Group of learners" once a week, once a month, or even just once a year either at your place, at an exotic place or even online. Let me know. IEN wants to partner with you to make this "dream" possible. We will certainly pay for your hobby or professional expertize!

Yours is a great idea.  I tried to send a mail to you but failed because of some technical reasons.  Hence I have edited and pasted the email content below.

 

I have been a practioner and trainer of environmental management for over 25 years.  I used to be a part of the faculty for Environmental Management programme at ASCI, taking a whole day for ISO-14001 and environmental management in business.  This was in the early 90s till about late 90s.  I used to train people in EMS and Environmental Auditing (based on ISO 19011) in our company. Other subjects I trained people (in India, Pakistan, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Indonesia etc) on were: Eco Design (Design for the Environment), Environmental Legal requirements (including product related legal requirements), Greening the supply chain (now Sustainability of the supply chain or Reponsible Supply Chain), Energy Efficiency Improvement, Handling of hazardous chemicals, Handling of Hazardous Wastes, Emergency prepareness, Clean and Green Manufacturing, Green Marketing, Green Accounting and Reporting (including GRI Guidelines), Issues of extended producer responsibility, Sustainability Management, Corporate Social Responsibility etc.  I teach a course on Corporate Social Responsibility (which also includes four lectures on environmental management issues) for MBA students of IndSearch, Pune.  I teach a course on Environmental Management to the MArch students of Nanavati College of Architecture in Pune.  I also teach a course on  environmental management   to students of PG Diploma in Env. Mgmt,. at IndSearch.  IndSearch can provide training courses on these and other natural resources related courses tailor made to the client organization.  By the way, I have been an assessor for the IEMA (UK)  approved ISO-14001 lead auditors courses offered in India and the Asia Pacific for over ten years.

 

From Oct 2009 I have been working as a  "Distinguished Professor" and  the Head of IndSearch Centre of Sustainability Management (i-cosm) at IndSearch, Pune. I have taken this position after over thirty years in Industry in R & D and Environmental/Energy/Sustainability Management.

I am specialized in zoo-plankton especially copepods (marine, freshwater, estuarine and meiobenthic).
