Hi DAA,

As said by couple of people, Liquid HW are to be stored in drums before disposing it to CPCB authorized dealers.

Coming to Solid HW, it has to be disposed in TSDF. Depending on the quantity and quality of HW generated in your firm, TSDF may be constructed within the company premises or to be disposed to the nearest TSDF facility. Construction of TSDF involves special technique which involves 6 layers such as Clay liner, cement concrete, Geo Membrane, Geo -textile Membrane, clay liner and finally cement concrete. I suggest you to refer couple of books released by CPCB on the subject such as "Manual for Design, Construction and Quality Control of Liners and C..."

Hope my reply would help you .

some basic guidelines are; impervious flooring (concrete if solid/ high viscous fluid, for low viscous fluid to be stored in drums, provide elastomeric lining so that even in event of spill in temp storage, it does not percolates thr flooring or is absorbed by concrete flooring), covered shed top, all sides, gate has locking provision, if waste has flammable properties explosion proof lighting, else normal lighting not directly above waste storage, spill kit available, fire extinuishers speciaaly provided, nearest hydrant point not more than 20 metres.
