• Marine benthic ecology and systematics of soft bottom organisms (Benthic and Planktonic); data collection methods; word processing, spreadsheet and statistical software; terminology, principles and techniques used in benthic ecology research; analysis and reporting; management and supervisory principles, practices, and procedures; principles and techniques related to benthic resource management principles.
• Taxonomic study of macrobenthos (up to species level).
• Study the ecological regularities of distribution and alteration in the coastal bottom communities based on multivariate techniques.
• General microbiological techniques.
• Isolation of marine microorganisms - (environmental microbes/human pathogens).
• Fishery microbiology (sampling and isolation of microorganisms from fish samples- Health management).
• Marine pollution monitoring by bacterial indicator.
• Molecular and conventional identification of marine actinomycetes.
• Univariate and multivariate statistical techniques using PRIMER (Plymouth Routines In Multivariate Ecological Research) Ver.6.1 BDPRO (Biodiversity Professional), CANOCO, ORIGIN 9.0, SPSS Ver.9.0, , STATISTICA, MVSP (Multivariate Statistical Package) software for statistical treatment of data.
• Use of scientific, laboratory, field equipment; computer operation, data processing, uni and multivariate analysis by latest ecology/statistical software, technical writing and managing a field and laboratory research team to conduct scientific research.
