DESCRIPTION:The workshop is organized by the World Bank Group along w
 ith National Informatics Centre – Data Division and Centre for Scien
 ce and Environment, New Delhi (CSE) as the knowledge partners for 
 Civil Society Organizations, Researchers, Government Officials and med
 ia.\n \nOpen Development, Open Governance, citizen participation, kno
 wledge sharing are all at the forefront of the World Bank Group (WBG).
  It is helping governments in its member countries to open data for tr
 ansparency, accountability and open governance. \nIn this context, th
 e Bank facilitates all interested parties with accessible, easy-to-use
  data, and with unprecedented access to other information and document
 s freely available on-line.  Broad access to these data allows citize
 ns, CSOs, policy makers, advocacy groups and other stakeholders to mak
 e better-informed decisions and to measure improvements more accuratel
 y.\nGovernment of India is also envisaging the proactive dissemination
  of Government resources through the Open Government Data Platform Ind
 ia – data.gov.in- to foster innovation; improve delivery of governme
 nt information & services besides promoting transparency, accountabili
 ty and public participation in governance.\nCentre for Science and Env
 ironment recognised for knowledge-based activism has been pro-actively
  engaged in communicating and influencing using data-driven knowledge 
 and experiences.\nThis workshop has thus been planned to raise awarene
 ss and ensure that Academicians, Civil Society Organizations, Governme
 nt officials and other beneficiary communities learn to access and use
  timely and relevant information/data available with the World Bank Gr
 oup (WBG), Government Of India (GOI), Centre for Science and Environme
