Workshop on Demystifying Grant Proposal Writing

Writing grant proposals doesn't have to be a mystery. Attend our one-day workshop which will provide you the basics for every part of your proposal, from summary to methods to evaluation. The topics include types of grants, grant formats, budgeting, developing evaluation plan, activity plan, sample proposal review and potential funding agencies. The aim of the workshop is to help participants develop in-depth know-how about writing grants and develop a draft template during the workshop. The workshop format is interactive including role play, case studies and group work.The participants will receive certificates at the end of the workshop

All professionals whose work involves writing proposals either for research or fundraising. Also students who aspire to become fundraisers. More appropriate for NGO professionals, Researchers and Educationists

SCHEDULE: 
9.30 a.m. : Registration
10.00 a.m.: Introduction to the workshop and self introduction
10.30 a.m. : Brainstorming on Grant writing
11.00 a.m. : Tea break and networking
11.15 a.m : Overview on grant writing process with hands on activities
12.30 p.m. : Sample proposals to be reviewed by groups
1.00 p.m. : Lunch break 
2.00 p.m. : Presentation by groups on reviewed proposal
2.30 p.m : Group work on developing proposal template for real projects
3.00 p.m. : Tea break
3.15 p.m : Group presentations
4.00 p.m. : Feedback and conclusion.

FEE: Free for NGO professionals. For others, Rs. 750/- per head (includes study material, tea, certificate). Lunch could be purchased from the canteen at venue.

ABOUT THE RESOURCE PERSON: Dr. V.Shubhalaxmi is a two time winner of U.S. Department's Alumni Innovation Engagement Fund competition. She won in 2012 where she was the one of the two winners and in 2014 is the sole winner from India. This is a global competition where more than 700 proposals are submitted world over of which only 50 are selected. She gained her mastery at writing grants after she took a course at Boston University in 2009. Since then she has been training several for grant writing and there are several success stories. She has written more than 100 proposals till now with 60% success rate. She was also invited by the U.S. Consulate General Mumbai to conduct training workshops for their alumni in Mumbai, Pune and Ahmedabad.
