 een enterprise segment of the economy. GES 2012 would be an excellent 
 platform and an opportunity to network and build alliances with experi
 enced green entrepreneurs/ enterprises, think tank organizations, tech
 nology experts, NGOs, industry specialists, policy makers and research
 ers working in the field of green economy, finance, technology and oth
 er aspects of green enterprises, which has some relevance on green bus
 inesses and green entrepreneurship.\n \nFocus: sustainable developmen
 t and green enterprises\n \nThe global economy is in a transition to 
 a more efficient and equitable entity, where better use of natural res
 ources to achieve sustainable growth is the focus.  A broader policy 
 agenda for climate-resilient strategies and sustainable growth that al
 so reduces poverty is emerging. Waste management, sustainable and gree
 n energy sectors are some of the emerging green sectors that can signi
 ficantly contribute to new job creation and entrepreneurial opportunit
 ies.\n \nGreen Enterprises: some concerns\n \nGreen enterprises can 
 substantially contribute in reducing pollution and environmental degra
 dation. But how far industries are aware of their responsibilities? Gr
 een technologies can support green growth by conserving energy and res
 ources in various social and economic activities with environmental en
 hancement i.e. GHG reduction technology that minimizes GHG pollutant e
 mission, energy efficiency technology, clean energy production technol
