6-day hands on training program on Water and Wastewater Analysis

The aim of this program is to familiarize the participants with the sampling and analysis of water and waste water samples, including knowing about the Analytical Techniques and Instruments, Standard operating procedures, and Measurement uncertainty.

Objectives
To familiarize participants with the techniques of water and wastewater sampling and analysis

To provide hands on training in the routine water and waste water analysis techniques

Content
1. Water and waste water samples’ collection and handling techniques.
2. Stoichieometry, analytical techniques and instrumentation for water and waste water analysis.
3. pH, alkalinity, acidity and hardness.
4. Estimation of organic matter concentration (DO, BOD and COD).
5. Biological water quality (MPN) testing.
6. Nutrients (total, organic, ammonical, nitrate and nitrite Nitrogen; and ortho and total Phosphorus).
7. Chlorides, Sulfates, Fluorides and Iron.
8. Solids (total, dissolved, suspended solids; volatile and fixed solids), conductivity and turbidity.
9. Bioassay and toxicity testing.
10. Analysis for oil and grease; Sample preparation for heavy metal testing on AAS/ICP/flame photometer; and Sample preparation for pesticides and PAH testing on GC/HPLC.
