DESCRIPTION:Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (
 ATREE) is hosting the fifth international canopy conference titled For
 est canopies: conservation, climate change and sustainable use in Bang
 alore from October 25-31, 2009 - www.canopy2009.org - The conference i
 s being held for the first time in Asia, and hopes to bring biologists
 , climate change scientists and socio economists to build inter-discip
 linary links in canopy science to foster forest conservation. The conf
 erence is expected to be attended by the world’s leading canopy biol
 ogists and conservation scientists. Dr Thomas Lovejoy will deliver the
  keynote address, and Kamal Bawa, Vojtech Novotny, Steve Turton, Andre
 w Mitchell, Nalini Nadkarni alongside others will deliver plenary talk
