Around Nashik, there are several caves I know, but if you are talking about the caves having Archeological importance like Pandavlena Cave, than you have to go for geomicrobiological studies eg., effect of global warming on its content etc. (Lascaux Cave Drawings) , otherwise if you are interested in biodiversity / ecological study of any wild cave, than please let me know.

Hi Neelam, I don't know whether any cave is exist nearer to your hometown or not. Personally I am a man of cave science and do understand the subject nicely, so if you wish join directly under my guidance than you have to reach some wild cave for your field work. Moreover, some students are also pursuing their work in domain other than cave under the other members of our organization. So better you mail me with your complete interest and proposal (which you wish to carry).

Dr Jayant Biswas, this is SP.Anandan from the Western Ghats range of mountains (one of the global biodiversity hot spots). The mountain range has hundreds of caves previously occupied by indigenous communities and hermits. Today, these caves have become the habitats of bats and other endangered animals. I would like to write to you that there are no proper research on the caves of the Western Ghats in Tamilnadu. Though I am a PG in English, I would like to pursue my Ph.D on caves which is quite interesting and will be the first of its kind in southern Tamilnadu. Kindly write to me in this regard. You may contact me at: frsdmdu@yahoo.co.in. You may also see my website: www.frsd.webs.com

Thank you

S.P.Anandan
