EIA Training Institutes

Its my humble request to all of you that I wanted to know about the EIA training institutes existing in the country. Can anyone help me?

Dear Colleagues

Now, it is evident, form the discussion, that there is no such training instituions for EIA and regular teaching program, except for one or two units in M Sc Environmental Sciences discipline in many of the universities in India. Although, it's one of the interdiscipinary subjects with an amalgamation of physical, chemical, biological and social sciences, it was never given due importance unlike other natural sciences.

To provide the subject EIA its due academic credit, SACON and IGNOU has signed a MoU to start a program "PG Diploma in Environmental Imapct Assessment and Management". The program will be offered in distant mode. SACON is developing the course and the same is likely to be lunched during 3rd quarter of 2012.

Hi Droupti, there is nothing like any training institution for EIA, rather its on-course project work or internship with such organizations involved in EIA projects. But if you are not doing any such sort of work then if you join such organization as a professional, it may be like entry level as long as you work with such projects with enthusiasm, u get expertise and involvement. The earning at entry level may be very low but if you r really interested then u may look into career with this particular thing.

EIA is only a tool in env management. EIA can be a part of EM, and worthy of having in-house training. Earlier we used to offer a 60 hr program for M.Sc. Environmental Studies. Now more of EIA experts have swimming sessions by the natural process.
