I am working in the Bauxite Mines of NALCO. I want to conduct  a study by some agency to conduct a biodiversity study , find out endangered fauna if any and prepare a biodiversity conservation plan in and around Mines. Which are the agencies that carry out such studies ? Is the study report required to be authenticated/approved  by some statutory body ?

 Dear Mr. Patnaik,

authenication of flora and fauna, identification of migratory birth, elephant corridor should be certified by Local DFO/PCCF,Bhubaneswar and also wildlife conservation plan should be prepared only forestry person( preferably by retired IFS or OSFC) and Conservation should be vetted by local DFO for further approval in state level(PCCF). This is for information

Dear Mr. Sanjay,

I am working as a consultant with couple of mining companies in Keonjhar district and have undertaken several ecological and biodiversity assessment as an ecologist and biodiversity expert. So far 5 EIA reports have been prepared for these mining areas.  Recently I got also associated with Vedanta group towards promotion of green belt.  To add, I belong to Sunabeda near Damanjodi and aware about the faunal diversity since I stayed there for 25 years since my childhood!

Local DFO has to be involved for certification.

If you wish, please contact me - pravat.sutar@kdf.co.in, Mob - 9937034543

Any renowned NGO, devoted to biodiversity work and having experts with them can handle this project, it is their duty to accommodate senior (relevant) scientist/professor in their project as consultant (if needed). It will be authentic. Further, you may approach any university also to take over or lead this work. They will also follow the same routine. However it will costs atleast 4-5 lacs for 4-5 months work.
