Green belt is of different categories , it depends for what purpose the belt is being created !!!
if it is for industrial area & also for different tyes of industries...
different kinds of tree species need to be planted in different types of area!!!!
i hope some policy must be enforced & framed from the govt side for proper awarenees & enhancing sufficient green belt.......
Thanks
Ranjeet
Dear Sanjeev,
I want to share my experiance in this subject(worked as Jont Chief Engineer in Pollution Control Board). To my observation the major benefit was decrease in odor problems to neighboring areas and improvements in ambient Air quality
In many cases adequate land was not anailable.
Adequate water requirement was not available.
Use of treated effluent for green belt would result to soil and ground water pollution due to mis management of treated effluent.
Lack of mind set of industries(want to spare the land for future devt)
We have taken firm decision to ensure atleast 25% of the land shall be provided with green belt.We have not considered the lawns as green belt.
We have pressed the industries to develop green belt even outside the industrial areas such as Road sides, Public places, Educational institutions involving student communities to satisfy the area requirement.
Encourging green belt in Public area through industrial establish ments not only improved the env quality and as well relationship between industry and public
