About me

The SAI Labs (a registered Society) was established with the main objective of having a central facility in the Thapar University Campus to carry out high end testing, consultancy & research. In addition to research programs, it was envisaged to have state of the art testing & characterization facility to cater to the high end testing needs of the organization as well as educational institutes. It is recognized as Environmental Laboratory by Ministry of Environment and Forest (MoE&F) and Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB).

My Green Mission

Objectives

-To provide analytical, technical, consultancy services

-Extension of basic research to specific applications involving the devising of specified novel products, processes, techniques or devices

-Researching with the object of developing and designing new and/or improved techniques and/or methods for controlling and/or reducing environmental pollution – water pollution, air pollution or any other pollution – caused particularly by industries

-To discover and develop methods for the beneficial utilization of natural resources

-To organize and foster the training of research workers in the fields related to its objects and to undertake training programs

The main areas of testing & research identified are:

-Environment & energy

-Materials

-Chemicals

At present, the SAI Labs is mainly involved in environmental monitoring and testing of various industries and their environmental samples in addition to some consultancy in the area of environment pollution. Some chemical and material testing are also conducted. In addition, Swirl testing of combustion engines is also conducted, as SAI Labs is the only organization in the northwestern region, which has got swirl testing facility.
