The objective of this investigation is to study the mercury accumulating potential of submerged plant P. pectinatus under laboratory condition & subsequent effect of metal bioaccumulation on some physiological parameter like chlorophyll, protein ,biomass , NR activity & Proline content
Main area of work:
Fly ash causes problem in air as well as in water & soil bodies. It has become a need to store the ash in such a way as to cause minimum damage to air , water and soil bodies . Economically important plant Phaseolus vulgaris grows in fly-ash mixed with soil, press mud & saw dust and various physiological parameters were studied.
Main area of work:
The project report shows the result of the experiments done on the aquatic plant P.pectinatus under Cu stress with the aim to use this plant in the phytoremediation of toxic metal. Results suggested that P.pectinatus may prove to be an ideal tool for biomonitering Cu contaminated industrial waste.
Main area of work:
The aquatic weeds like Water hyacinth, Water lettuce, Duckweeds etc are growing gregarious in River Gomti,Lucknow. Those weeds, Water hyacinth (Eichhornia Crassipes), in particular, are creating major promblem in the Gomti River due to its extensive growth in the River bed and clogits flow down stream.
