About me

My research and teaching interests have been fostered by several years of undergraduate teaching and mentoring at KIT’s College of Engineering, Kolhapur at Maharashtra since 1996. In addition, I also taught a section of Postgraduate programs in Environmental Engineering at Shivaji University, Kolhapur and KLE’s College of Engineering, Belgaum on the principles and techniques of Atmospheric Pollution, Climate Change, Air Quality modeling And simulation, Environmental Management Systems, Environmental Risk Assessment, OHSAS 18001 etc. and supervised the undergraduate and postgraduate research of several students.

I am currently a Doctoral student in Chemical Engineering at National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal and fully expect to complete my PhD degree requirements by October 2010. I respectfully submit this letter of application, for I believe my experiences and commitment to teaching make me well qualified to meet the needs of your educational program.

My Green Mission

My Doctoral dissertation research has focused upon source apportionment of trace elements in atmospheric aerosols and chemical characterization for the same. This research and the projects that will stem from it can be adapted to provide undergraduates with research opportunities for their projects and would also complement the existing strengths of the department. Similarly, my current research on carbon dioxide emission capture and sequestration for foundries and textile mills shall be useful for mitigating climate change problems and earn motivating bonuses like carbon credit for industries.
