A river or stream originates at a high land like hill or mountain and carries fresh rain water through plain and ultimately either joins another river or stream or ultimately reaches sea or ocean. A creek allows sea water to enter the continent during high tide. Thus, quality of creek water will be saline and quality of river water is much less saline compared to creek.
