I request advice on STP. If SPCB grants the consent to operate STP of 400 M3/day, then is it necessary to install single STP of 400 m3/day? OR can we install two or three STP (packaged)with cumulative capacity of 400 m3/day, if the area of plant is large and scattered.?

Is there any non compliance, if the industrial Plant has 3 STPs of total "consented capacity" instead of single STP?

Decentralized system is required , when the area is large and require to cater to all parts of plant.

Thanks in advance..

IT is better to inform SPCB that you are going for multiple STPs with total cumulative capacity of 400 m3/day and then implement as per your choice.

No issues. As per Water Act, you are entitled to identify the technology including the configuration of STP which suits the industry/Area Development Project/Multi storied Housing Complex. The standards should be adhered for disposal of treated effluents and disposal method as per Consent for Operation issued by SPCB

Dear Mr Gorji,

In most of the Cases where the project Site is located no UGS facility are vailable. It would not be fit to dispose into Storm Water drain or odai where there is no flow of water most of the time except during rains. That is why many of the SEIAAC INSISTS FOR ZERO DISCHARGE.

Consent to operate for perticular place. Whatever you do should be done within the designated place.
