Spot Admission to MPhil Ecological Informatics

Spot Admission for the remaining few seats of M.Phil. Ecological Informatics 2014-15 is scheduled at Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management – Kerala (IIITM-K), Technopark Campus, Kariyavattom (PO), Trivandrum on 22 July 2014.

Course Structure M. Phil. EI is a one-year, full time program. In the first semester, students are tutored core modules comprising Ecology [ecological physics, landscape ecology and quantitative ecology], Informatics[computer programming, database, information system and geospatial technologies] and Socio-Ecology and Research Methodology, [ecological economics, demography, anthropology, sociology and research methodology].

During the second semester, students carry out their project either at collaborating national institutions or in any laboratory identified by them. This facilitates an option of career expansion for professionals working in NGO/ allied sectors by carrying out research project in their respective parent organization. In effect, they earn a higher qualification with minimum time investment.
