Dear All,

Is there anyone who can explain the consideration of percolation rate a site and its relation with recharge pit designs. Please explain.

percolation rate of a particular site depends the soil and geography of that region. easy way to relay on the previous study conducted by CGWB or similar agencies. Or can find the standard percolation rate for given soil type. Alternatively, you have to conduct infiltration test.

But the recharge pits in RWH generally doesn't require the such information so accurately (especially if it is designed for RTRWH) since the amount of water not usually exceed the percolation rate and since the pit will be able to hold some store water through the filter materials.
