A comprehensive archive of over 250 technical research reports of the National Institute of Hydrology (NIH), Roorkee, have now been made available on the portal, and in the public domain for the first time.

These papers span the research work of NIH from 1996-97 to 2000-01, and are broadly related to the inter-disciplinary subject of scientific & applied hydrology. Overall, the reports deal with:

  • Study of snow melt and glaciers
  • Modeling of rainfall-runoff, water quality and flood
  • Analyzing droughts and floods, including statistical analysis of flood and drought risk
  • Investigating the causes of flooding and identifying possible solutions
  • Evaluating the consequences of land-use changes
