 The Bharat Ratna Dr B.R. Ambedkar University, Delhi or AUD was established by the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi through an Act of Legislature in 2007 and was notified in July 2008. The School of Human Ecology (SHE) is engaged with the pressing issues of development and environment addressed through a diverse, interdisciplinary programme.

Job description:                              

Objectives of the present project are: to estimate the spatial and temporal characteristics of built-up area change at two different levels; the national capital territory (NCT) level and NCR level; to measure and quantify dispersion of urban expansion (or urban sprawl); to study the driving forces and factors affecting urban expansion and to formulate a future view of urban expansion

The RA will undertake literature review, data mining from secondary sources, field work in Delhi and NCR regions for data collection, interactions with government, non-government and other stakeholders, analysis of land use change through remote sensing, ground truthing using GPS device, data tabulation and analysis, mapping, and report writing.
