Primary Responsibilities

•Applies fundamental concepts, practices and procedures within one or more fieldsto solve complex problems and of interdisciplinary nature

•Uses engineering and scientific knowledge to design water and wastewater treatment processes. Performs energy and mass balance calculations on plant processes.

•Responsible for technical problem solving, data analysis, documentation of laboratory procedures and results, writing progress and final reports. 

•Assists in scaling up and setting up pilot and small scale plants in the area of water and waste water treatments

•Researches literature and patents for scientific information and applies the knowledge to solve various technical problems

•Writes and prepares technical reports and summaries for client presentations, with minimal or no supervision

•Maintains formal and informal communications with clients to achieve the highest technical quality within schedule and budget.

•Supports client meetings/business development.

 

The candidate must have 2-5 years of experience in scientific research and development related to water and wastewater technologies .

Desired Candidate Profile:

 

Education:

(UG - B.Tech/B.E. - Bio-Chemistry/Bio-Technology, Chemical, Environmental, Metallurgy) AND (PG - M.Tech - Chemical, Environmental, Metallurgy, M.Sc - Chemistry, Environmental science)

•A masters degree with 5 years of experience or Ph.D. with 2 – 3 years of experience in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering (with emphasis on chemistry), or a related discipline

•Prior knowledge of advanced treatment technologies for water, wastewater and industrial effluent treatments is a must

•Experience in process control, process engineering and design, scale up, setting up scale up operations, and managing complex technical projects is required

•Experience with proposal writing for various funding agencies (Govt or private) and industry is desirable.

•Experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and other computational tools relevant to process engineering is desirable

•Past experience with innovative drinking water and or wastewater treatment projects will be an additional qualification

• Experience with various software packages including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Project, Access, and Excel is required.

•Good written and verbal communication skills, fluency in English, both written and verbal, excellent people skills and team oriented working nature are most essential
