             Any one have an idea how to calculate/estimate the quantitative effect of   planting trees on the  carbon foot print. ?

Following may be use;

 

Assumption to make,

Average life span of tree assumed : 40 years

Average carbon absorption by a tree assumed: 20.3 kg/ year

 

 NOw, The  total emission of your target area is X,  divided X  by 20.3 kg of CO2 absorbed per tree = Y No. of Trees, that must plant to offset the carbon produced in your target area
