Environmental issues in Karnataka

Dear friends,

 

I'm working on a seminar for the students of Manipal Institut of Technology.

I would like to bring them on a place of environmental interest.

Do you know what could the best place to visit? It should be close to Manipal

 

I would like to show them on what can of issues they will have to deal with in their professionnal life.

 

I would like to find an official who is interested to express the challenge that Karnataka will have to face in the futur. The best thing could be to have a speech on the field on a waste dump or a polluted area.

 Why only polluted area or a waste dump,, you can take them to the western ghats, one of the biological hot spots of India.. numerous vegetation types, lots of endemic species of flora and fauna.

If you want to show them about Urban waste disposal and treatment and carrying capacity of the city, Bangalore is a good place. It is burgeoning with skilled migrants but infrastructure has not been upgraded to handle the increased population and the needs of the population
