CEPF and the Western Ghats Regional Implementation Team (RIT) based in ATREE, Bangalore , invite proposals from civil society organizations such as non-governmental organizations, community-based organizations, academic institutions, private enterprises, and also individuals for biodiversity conservation projects in the Western Ghats . Applicants are expected to have adequate experience in implementing biodiversity conservation projects in the Western Ghats region of India .
The proposals should be sent electronically to cepfwghats@atree.org on or before February 28th 2010. The submitted proposals will be reviewed by RIT and subsequently by Technical Review Team of experts. Based on merit and the applicant's comparative advantage in helping to implement the strategic directions, the proposal will get approved. Application processing time can be expected to be two to three months..
The proposals for grants should be based on the strategic directions, investment priorities and geographic locations as laid down in the Western Ghats Ecosystem Profile. The focus should be on conservation of the region’s flora and fauna that are in critical danger at key biodiversity sites and corridors in the Western Ghats. Specific information for this round of grants, guidelines, instructions and format for grant applications are available in the call website. Applicants are welcome to discuss proposal ideas and eligibility with the Regional Implementation Team at cepfwghats@atree.org before submitting formal proposals.
