Paryavaran.com-Gateway to Indian Environment Market
Dear All,
I need your help in understanding the best available book in the market on Waste water technologies. I am searching for a book which can give me ideas on the selection of waste water technologies for any type of waste water. (I understand, suggesting best available waste water technology is the matter of experience and technical expertise of the person who is suggesting it).
Background:
1) I need a book which can help me to evaluate best available waste water treatment technologies in the market. (Please note that, I am not a water professional but have studies ‘waste water treatment’ during my post graduation (M.Sc Environment Management. Hence I need little bit self explanatory book).
2) Water sector is changing drastically. New technologies are coming up on each year. In such case if the book would be based on new technologies, it will help me a lot.
One of friend has suggested a book - ‘Wastewater Engineering: Treatment and Reuse’, by Metcalf Eddy. I need your expert onion and suggestions if anything new in the market. One more thing, I found the edition of this book is quite old (2002) on Flipkart. Is their new version is available in the market?
Thanks!

Metcalf Eddy is a good book...please go through.
Metcalf & Eddy, Sawyer & McCarthy(Env. Chem), Christian & Karia, Wun Jern (Industrial W/W treatment),
Nicholas P. Cheremisinoff (Handbook of water & W/W treatment technologies), Evan K. Nyer (Groundwater treatment technology), Duncan Mara (Domestic wastewater treatment in Developing countries), Lawrence K. Wang - Yung Tse Hung and Nazih K. Shammas (Advanced Physicochemical Technologies)..... etc,.
List continues.... There are lot many books on wastewater treatment technologies. I would recommend you to choose the text book based on type of wastewater and mode of treatment required.

Hi Shailesh.
The best book is 'Wastewater Engineering: Treatment and Reuse’ by G. Tcbhonoglous. published by Metcalf & Eddy.
This book is best if your are aware of basics of Environmental Engineering.
I am an M.Tech in Env Engg. this book came to use only when we had knowlegde about wastewater engineering during B.E.
this book is quite complex for study for a new reader. Go for wastewater treatment by B C Punmia.
it gives an easy understanding of concepts. later you can study Metcalf for best understanding.
you can find soft copies of these books in 4shared.com. try searching.
